Take a look at what one SYSA alum is up to these days:
McKenzie Meehan takes home Golden Boot award at U-20 World Cup qualifiers
(Jan. 21, 2014) - McKenzie Meehan has a knack for hitting the back of the net, having come off a season with Boston College in which she set a school record for goals in a season with 20. Sunday in the Cayman Islands, Meehan and the U.S. U-20 Women's National Team beat Mexico, 4-0, in the finals of the CONCACAF Women's Championships. With her six goals in the tournament, one in which the U.S. qualified for the 2014 U-20 FIFA Women's World Cup in Canada, Meehan earned a share of the Golden Boot award. Meehan tied for the tournament high in goals scored with Mexico's Tanya Samarzich, sharing the award for top scorer in the tournament. An All-ACC second team selection for Boston College in 2013, Meehan led the ACC in goals (20) and game-winning goals (nine).
